Warm as a coffee with cream, this one sets a big field of soft tan against little scrappy patches of woodland prints, moths and butterflies, ferns, mushrooms, birch trees, and folk-art birds in navy, dusty rose, coral, and olive. The colored bits are pieced into scattered star and diamond shapes that float on all that calm khaki background, which gives your eye plenty of room to wander from one critter print to the next. The quilting is the star of the show and it is downright adorable: the Cat Paw pattern, rows of little paw prints (a round pad with a scatter of toe beans above it) padding their way across the whole quilt like a cat just tiptoed over wet sand. It reads gorgeously in relief on the open tan and puffs up soft on the gray minky backing. Light Tan thread keeps every paw quiet and tone on tone. A snuggly walk through the woods.
