Fresh as a farmers market in May, this one is all watercolor roses, lavender, turquoise, and lime green, with a cheeky avocado print sneaking into the mix so half the fun is spotting the little green fruits hiding among the flowers. The blocks are pieced from tidy stacks of strips, rail-fence style, each one turned a different direction and framed in crisp white sashing so the whole top reads like a bright window grid full of spring. A ditsy green floral border and an aqua polka-dot edge wrap it up like ribbon on a gift. The quilting is, fittingly, the Avocado pattern, big interlocking curvy shapes with little pit-like swirls (rounded avocado silhouettes that loop and nest into each other) rolling across every block. Light turquoise thread keeps it soft and cool against all that pink and green, barely there but tying the whole garden together. A quilt in a genuinely good mood.
