Blast off, but bring a snack, because this quilt has a lot to look at. The appliqué is out of this world: a rocket zooms past orange planets, ringed Saturns spin in pink and yellow, a tiny house sits on top of a very green Earth, and a night forest of pine trees watches the stars come out. Pieced sawtooth stars and a tall stack of flying geese pointing skyward break up the scenes, and a wild parade of lions, fish, a ram, and a leaping pink rabbit gallop around on a sunny yellow border sprinkled with moons and stars. Ginger Star loops across the whole universe with swooping lines that twist into stars along the way. Rainbow variegated thread shifts from red to gold to green to purple as it travels, so the stitching sparkles like a meteor shower.
