A memory quilt built from years of well loved denim and old team shirts, and you can practically hear it clink when you fold it. The background is all recycled jeans, every shade from pale sun faded wash to deep indigo, some panels still carrying a real pocket or a felled seam, pieced into offset columns so the whole thing reads like a wall of lockers. Floating on top are the Cities Sports Connection shirt logos, one season after another, indoor soccer and summer softball and CSC Football spanning from the year 2000 through Spring 03, a little printed timeline of somebody's playing days. Over the denim runs the City Windows quilting in cream thread, tidy stacked rectangles marching across the blue like lit windows in a night skyline, the pale stitches glowing against all that indigo. Heavy, honest, and warm in the way only old jeans get.
